Did you know…Green is my favorite color? It all started when I took my first trip to Washington State, back when I was 14 years old. I saw what greenery really looked like. For this AZ girl it just takes a few tall trees and a lot of green shrubs growing everywhere to make me fall in love! To this day I prefer living in a green oasis of an environment, which is why I love living in Northern CA. Previously we were living in Southern CA (Edwards AFB) and let me just say that is a COMPLETE desert! Don’t get me wrong I loved our time at Edwards, but it had nothing to do with the landscape. That is why when we found out we were headed up North, I got SO excited for all the GREEN. It is like living in the greenness of WA state, but with less rain and LOTS of blue skies for most of the year. Of course being that we are only temporarily stationed here, who knows where our next location will be. Hopefully somewhere green or even greener than here?
So long story short, green is my color. I also LOVE throwing in these power greens into a smoothie, because 1) amazing amount of added nutrients 2) you can’t even taste them! Seriously, if you are freaked out about putting them in your food, DON’T be! They are not as intimidating as they seem. I like to add them in a fruit smoothie anyways, the fruit sweetens the shake just enough and overpowers most of the other shake flavors.
I used Vanilla Shakeology in my shake, but you could use any clean vanilla Whey protein powders. You could also get crazy and add in some collagen peptides (flavorless).
